About Us - St. Jacobs Mennonite Quilts was founded in 1991.  It is situated on the main street of picturesque St. Jacobs in the heart of Mennonite country. The store has it's own unique character and  is well worth a visit.

 A love for the workmanship of the local artisans prompted the creation of St. Jacobs Mennonite Quilts. Dedication to superior design and quality throughout is just one of our trademarks. 

The Quilt Collection - Color co-ordination and the craftmanship of  Old Order Mennonites  and Amish of Waterloo County, Ontario is what make these quilts of the higest quality.  Each comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity and full care directions. Traditional quilting has become a rare art form. Our quilts are "one of a kind" works of art. The quilts can be used as bedspreads, however, they also make outstanding wall hangings.

Our Traditional Mennonite Quilts are recognized the world over as emblems of Canadian history and heritage, and we have proudly sold them to quality-minded clientele from all over the globe, including England, Scotland, Ireland, the United States, South Africa, Australia, Holland, Japan, Germany, New Zealand, France, and Spain.

One of our specialties is custom designing quilts of any size for specific themes, functions or ideas. Just send us your ideas and we will do the rest. For example, the Blue Jays Quilt was crafted in '92, one of  the years they won the pennant,  Scottish Quilt for Scottish Festival, Lighthouse wall hanging for Bruce County Museum and a Multi-color Nautical Quilt for a client in Bahamas.

Traditional quilting is an increasingly rare art-form that is often 'imitated' these days by poor and inexperienced workers and machine-quilting, but each and every one of our quilts is a unique work of art -- the real thing -- backed by a certificate of authenticity that is dated and signed.
